About me
Kevin focuses his practice on bankruptcy and reorganization matters, receivership, commercial transactions, real estate and business litigation. He is certified as a Business Bankruptcy Law Specialist by the North Carolina State Bar and is a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Kevin has extensive experience as a Court-Appointed Receiver in cases pending in the North Carolina Business Court, North Carolina State Courts, and federal bankruptcy courts. This practice area has expanded significantly in recent years, and he has served numerous times as a receiver. He is a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (NABT) and the Commercial Receivers Association.
Kevin is licensed to practice in all Federal and State Courts in North Carolina, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a frequent lecturer at bankruptcy seminars and also regularly serves as a mediator in bankruptcy and business litigation matters. He served as the Chair of the Bankruptcy Specialization Committee of the North Carolina State Bar from 2009–2015, and he previously served as a member of the Bankruptcy Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association. Kevin is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
Kevin graduated from North Carolina State University in 1991, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He received his law degree, with Honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1994.
